Koda Sail Croatia Sailing

WELCOME
ABOARD!

You finally made it! You did all the hard work and planning to get here, it's time to sit back, relax and let us take over from here.

Below you'll find some basic but important info to guide you through the week.

SAFETY FIRST

ONBOARD SAFETY:

  • Please adhere to safety guidelines and follow instructions from the crew at all times.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:

  • In an emergency, please try and make your way to the back lounge area for further instructions.

  • In the case of bad weather, we recommend that you do not walk around the boat, to avoid injury and falling overboard.

  • If you do witness someone falling overboard while we are sailing, alert one of the crew members immediately. Try to keep your eye on the person overboard at all times to assist in the rescue.

  • If needed, your life-jacket is under your bed. Do not remove from the room unless used in an emergency.

SMOKE ALARMS:

  • Located in all cabins. Smoking is prohibited in rooms.

EMERGENCY CONTACT:

  • For urgent onboard issues, speak to your Koda Sail tour manager or a crew member immediately.
In an emergency, always follow the captain and crew’s instructions first.

MEET YOUR CREW

CAPTAIN:

  • Leading our voyage with 40+ years of experience is Captain Velibor.

YOUR CREW:

  • Ready to assist you with any requests throughout your journey, we have a full onboard crew looking after the boat, meals, bar, cabins and daily operations.

  • Our onboard crew includes a captain, engineer, chef, wait staff, bartender, sailors and housekeeping team. Your Koda Sail tour manager will introduce everyone on Day 1.

THE WEEK AHEAD

DAY SHEETS:

  • Every morning the daily itinerary will be on display on the dining room window. Your Koda Sail rep will go over everything each day at lunch and explain in more detail.

WEEKLY OVERVIEW SHEET:

  • If you want to know what is coming up for the rest of the week, we also have a weekly overview sheet on the same window.

DEPARTURE TIME:

  • We can be told from Port Authorities to move on as early as 5:30am, so always be back on board before then.

NAUTICAL NIGHT:

  • Check out the Weekly overview sheet for when the Nautical Night is. The theme is Nautical, so anything Blue, White or striped works well. Find yourself a captains hat and you're all sorted!

EMBRACING CROATIA

SLOW PACE:

  • Embrace the leisurely pace of life here in Croatia. Things may not always happen on time, but that’s part of the charm. By the end of the week you'll get to understand why there never seems to be a rush with anything and start taking that same approach. Once you get there, it's hard to snap out of. Good luck back in the office!!

FLEXIBILITY:

  • Be prepared for some flexibility in schedules and plans. Enjoy the spontaneity and make the most of each moment. We are at the mercy of the Port Authorities at each port. They dictate timings and if boats need to be re-directed. In all the tours we've done over the 10+ years, not one week has been the same!

RELAX AND ENJOY:

  • Relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in the unique experiences and beautiful scenery. Leave all the planning up to us and just turn up :)

OUR BOAT. OUR HOME

THE CASANOVA:

  • You're on board the A+ Category Casanova Motor Yacht. This boat was built in 2017 and refurbished again in 2022.

  • The boat itself is used for 24 weeks consecutively over the Summer, so it does see it's fair share of wear & tear.
With that in mind, please let us know ASAP if you notice something not quite right, either in your cabin or around the boat. Issues are much easier to fix while you are onboard than after the tour has finished.
Although you might think it is a small thing and it doesn't bother you, we'd still like to know so that we can keep on top of things.
Getting a maintenance crew on board over Summer is very difficult and sometimes could take over a week to get them on board.

  • AC - For the best setting, turn dial all the way to Zero. Ensure the switches are set to COOL and HIGH. Keep doors and windows closed while A/C is running. Please note that A/C can be affected by local port power, generator use and onboard operations

  • Cabin Cleaning: Cabins receive basic cleaning during the week, including bins, bathroom touch-ups and general shared area cleaning. If something needs attention, please let your Koda Sail tour manager know early so the crew can address it.

  • Toilets: Please do not flush wipes, sanitary products, cotton pads or anything other than toilet paper unless the crew advises otherwise. Marine plumbing is sensitive and blockages can affect your cabin and others onboard.

  • Water: Fresh water onboard is limited. Please keep showers short and avoid leaving taps running, especially when everyone is getting ready at the same time.

  • Wi-Fi / Mobile Signal: Wi-Fi and mobile signal can vary throughout the week, especially while sailing or in smaller ports. Please do not rely on it for work, streaming or urgent communication.

BUDGETING & TIPPING

LOCAL PORT TAX:

  • Please ensure you have €105 in cash ready to pay your Koda Sail rep.

EATING OUT:

  • During the week, you can expect to pay between €20-40 per meal.

  • Cash is KING. We'll say that again...CASH IS KING! Cash is expected at most bars and restaurants throughout Croatia.
For our group dinners onshore, there will be one bill and cash payments only. ATMs are readily available.

ONBOARD BAR:

  • The bar onboard is owned and run by the Casanova Boat. It is fully licensed, meaning there is no BYO permitted.

  • The Bar Crew will put on a Happy Hour every night with different specials throughout the week.

  • You can expect a weekly bar tab of €175-225 if having a few drinks throughout the day with meals and evening Happy Hour drinks.

  • Your bar tab must be paid in cash at the end of the week, direct to the Bar Crew.

  • You can find the Drink Menu onboard HERE for reference.

EXCURSIONS:

  • Plan ahead and check costs on our excursion page HERE. Payments are in cash.
    .

TIPPING:

  • Tipping is very much appreciated throughout Croatia as most locals only get work throughout the Summer months.

  • Our Crew on board will do everything they can to ensure your week is the best it can be. At the end of the week you'll have an opportunity to tip them. Suggested amounts are;

  • €15 per WEEK, per crew member on board (€105-€120 total for the week, for the whole crew to share)

  • €49 per WEEK for your Koda Sail tour manager (€7 per day)

We Value Your Feedback:

  • As part of our dedication to constantly improve, at the end of the week while your trip is fresh in your mind, we'd love to get your feedback.
